YIELD OF PIPIANA PUMPKIN IN RESPONSE TO PRUNING AND POPULATION DENSITY
Main Article Content
Abstract
The agronomic development of pipiana pumpkin (Cucurbita argyrosperma Huber) in seed yield, was evaluated in Cocula, Gro. Seven distances between plants (30, 60, 90, 120, 150, 180 and 210 cm) were evaluated, in combination with two pruning levels (without and with pruning); the 14 treatments were distributed in a randomized complete block design in a split plot arrangement with four replications. The treatments showed significant differences in plant size, number of fruits and seed weight. The best densities, 26 666 and 8 888 plants/ha (30 and 90 cm between plants) increased the quantity of fruits.
