Abstract

lnitial irrigation, flowering and fructification dates in guava (Psidum guajaba L.) for the Calvillo, Ags. orea are presented. lt is noted that in general flowcring takes place one or two months after the firsl irrigation, where as maduration occurs six to eight months after, independently of the season of the year. The period of time ncecessary for fruit maduration vories from six to eight months after flowering. In frost free areas it is possible to obtain fruits in any time of the year. lt is possible also to delay flowering, in order to prevent frost injury, with irrigation programing. Apparently it may be possible to obtain two crops a tear.
