PRELIMINARY STUDY OF THE FORMATION OF ADVENTIOUS BUDS IN EMBRYOS OF Pinus patula Schl. et cham CULTURED in vitro.

Abstract
Mature embryos of Pinus patula Schl. et cham were grow in a defined basal medium supplemented with different concentrations of naftalenacetic acid (NAA) and 6 benzylaminopurine (BAP). The induction of adventitiuos shoots was the main effect of the growth regulator combinations; ho wever, in sorne treatments the callus growth and root induction on the explants was noted too. Both the percentage of explants with adventitiuos shoots and the mean number of shoots per explant were the best in the 1 ppm BAP and 0.05 ppm NAA combination.
The adventituos shoots were developed principally on the cotyledons· surface in contact with the culture medium or in the apical meristem zone. Their elongation was stimulated in a culture medium without growth regulators.
