Abstract
"More people have died as a result of malnutrition in the last thousand years than in all wars." Thus spoke Dr. Clifton Wharton in May of this year, who among other important data mentioned the following: "Currently, one in eight people in the world suffers continuously from hunger... Sixteen percent of the world's children are malnourished ... Food production in developing countries only meets 87% of demand; a reduction to 74% is possible before the year 2000 ... Six hundred million inhabitants live on less than US$50.00 income per year ".
