THE IMPORTANCE OF IRRIGATION IN SOYBEAN YIELD IN THE VALLE DEL FUERTE
Main Article Content
Abstract
The northern region of Sinaloa State, Mexico, has a high potential for irrigated agriculture. However, when soybean (Glycine max L. Merr) is cultivated in this area, the first irrigation after planting is carried out too early, causing low growth and yield. This paper reports information obtained during four years, regarding water use and management. The results indicate that it is possible to save to up 5O% of the water used in irrigating soybean with no effect on seed yield.
