Abstract
Sideoats grama {Bouteloua curtipendula (Michx.) Torr} is a valuable forage grass in the desert grass -land. Superior seed production potential is a highly valuable characteristic of improved cultivars. Cultivars Chihuahua 75 and AN Seleccion 75 were compared for seed production at Ocampo, Coahuila and Navidad, Nuevo Leon, in 1981. A randomized complete block design was used with 16 and 18 repl ícations at Ocampo and, Navidad, respectively. The experimental plots were 2.7 m wide (three 0.9 m rows) by seven meters long. Seed productíon was determlned harvesting five meters of the central row. The technique of covariance was used to adjust treatment means for stand irregularities. There were no significant differences among cultivars at Ocampo. At Navidad there were highly signiflcant differences among cultlvars and seed production was higher for Chihuahua 75, Seed production was higher at Ocampo than at Navidad.
