Abstract

The adaptabil ity of cold tolerant sorghum genotypes was assesed over a wide range of environments. The stability parameters of a given genotype changed as the number of genotypes and locations for the test changed. However, the results demonstrated
that the cold tolerance trait has allowed to extend the adaptation areas for sorghum cultivation in Mexico. The results validate the proposition of two cold-tolerant open-pollinated varieties for semi-commercial tests in areas which altitude ranges from 1800 to 2350 m.
