Abstract

The presence of the species Diaphania hyalinata and D. nitidalis, feeding on cucumber plants (Cucumis sativus L.) (Cucurbitales: Cucurbitaceae) in the state of Jalisco, Mexico, is reported for the first time. The distinctive morphological characteristics of the species and the damage caused to cucumber plants are highlighted, which will be helpful for their recognition in the field and subsequent establishment of phytosanitary measures in managing and controlling these species.
