Abstract

The best combination and concentration of indole-3-acetic acid (AIA) with 6-bencylaminopurine (BAP) or kinetin (K) were determinad for the in vitro shoot-induction from leaf explants of the tomate hybrid Blazer. Leaf explants isolated from 10-day-old seedlings were aseptically cultured on a Murashige and Skoog medium suplemented with 0.1, 1 or 10 μM AIA combined with 1,5 or 10 μM BAP or K,
under defined enviromental conditions. The AIA-BAP combination was significantly better for shoot-induction than the AIA-K combination, while the best concentrations were 1 μM for AIA and 10 μM for both cytokinins.
