Abstract

Physiotechnics is a discipline that integrates the plant, the environment and their interactions. Its purpose is to define new criteria and strategies that allow greater efficiency to be achieved, both in plant genetic improvement programs and in the production processes of agricultural crops. It has also been noted that the teaching of Physiotechnics began in Mexico at the Postgraduate College in 1969 and was later extended to the National School of Agriculture (today UACH) in 1970-1971 and in other institutions such as the Autonomous Agrarian University. Antonio Narro, University of Nuevo León and Agricultural Schools of other Universities in later years. The objective of this work was to review oilseed research in Mexico and elucidate the impact that Physiotechnics has had on research approaches in this group of plants.
