Abstract

An interpretation is made of the formula that gives adjus ted
plant yields of the actual yields from a mass selecction plot, Y ij  Y ..+ (Yij -Yi. ), lt is assumed that intra sub-plot envorpnmental variation

is absent or insignificant, thus, adjusted plant yields correspond to the field weights minus the envi ronmental deviation due to the sulplot estimated by its average yield.
