COMPORTAMIENTO AGRONÓMICO DEL HÍBRIDO H-137 Y MATERIALES CRIOLLOS DE MAÍZ EN EL VALLE DE PUEBLA
Main Article Content
Abstract
Nine field experiments were established in Puebla, México, between 1993 and 1995 in order to compare the maize hybrid H-137 with regional maize landraces regarding their responses to N, P, K fertilization and population density (DP). Three field experiments underwent severe drought stress, two suffered moderate stress whereas four had drought stress. Interactions among genotype and agronomic management factors (N, P, K, DP) were significat. The hybrid H-137 was more intensely effected than landraces by population density and by N fertilization rates in the absence of drought stress. However, maize landraces stover production was consistently larger than that of hybrid H-137.
