Main Article Content
Abstract
This study was carried out on the Farming and Husbandry Section issued by the Technical Diffusion Unit of the Experimental Station in Zacatecas, and published by the MOMENTO newspaper in the same city. The aim of the research was to determine the content and legibility of the information published in this section during one year, as well as to suggest recommendations for the future. The study was performed through a content analysis and by applying the Rudolf Flesch formula (Méndez, 1981) for measuring legibility. Results showed that most of the published essays were of miscellaneons topics (67.3%), surpassing other topics such as agriculture
(11.5% ), fruticulture (7.4% ), husbandry (2.2%) and climatology (11.5%). lt was also concluded that the information was written in normal prose. It is suggested to include more information on husbandry topics and to obtain a better balance on the fruticulture and agriculture topics.
