POSTHARVEST BEHAVIOUR OF AVOCADO FRUIT (cv. HASS) ACCORDING TO THE PICKING STAGE
Main Article Content
Abstract
Avocado (Persea americana Mili) fruits cv Hass harvested at different stages of maturity during the season from the regions of Uruapan, Michoacán were studied during ripening at room temperature to determine the effect of different stages of maturity on fruit postharvest behaviour and storage life. Fruits of both, early and late harvest had a lower storage life. Those of the second date required more time to ripen, compared to the first and last harvest. Among the parameters evaluated, color and dry matter content
were related to fruit maturity at harvest.
