DISTRIBUTION, CONCENTRATION AND CONTENT OF NUTRIENTS ON APPLE cv AGUA NUEVA II
Main Article Content
Abstract
Dry matter and nutrients distribution were studied in two years old apple trees cv. Agua Nueva II, grafted at two heights (22 and 5 cm) on MM.106 and MM.111 rootstocks. The trees were harvested and dissected on November, 1996. Dry matter distribution was affected by graft position, but not by rootstock. The highest dry matter accumulation was in the rootstock stems with 61 and 42 %, whereas the cultivar stem values were 18 and 31 %; in the roots the proportions were 21 and 28 %, at high and low grating heights, respectively. The highest nutrient concentrations were found in leaves and roots, and the lowest in cultivar and rootstocks stems.
